CLINICS AND OTHER SERVICES
Medical Examinations Medical
examinations for special purposes, such as fitness to travel, pre-employment, insurance, driving medicals etc, are undertaken outside normal
surgery hours. A BMA approved fee will be payable. Please contact the surgery
to make an appointment. Fees are clearly displayed in the reception area.
Travel
Immunisations Virtually
all foreign trips require some kind of vaccination. Where possible please allow at least eight
weeks before departure. We charge a standard fee per person for the certification
involved in your immunisation. A few vaccines are not covered under the NHS and
a separate charge will be made.
We are an approved Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre, and we stock all vaccines
at the surgery to save you the trip to the pharmacy (and you will not have to
pay a prescription charge).
Tetanus
Immunisations All patients
are recommended to ensure that they are immune against the deadly disease of
tetanus which is particularly prevalent in Essex. A course consists of three
injections a month apart.
Hepatitis
A and Hepatitis B Immunisation Those working
in the police, ambulance, nursing or any other occupation in which they are liable
to come into contact with body fluids, and most people visiting abroad, are advised
to have a course of Hepatitis A and B vaccines. Please contact the reception
to arrange an appointment.
